I have a 2014 VW Beetle - WITH a panoramic roof - what trunk mount bike rack do you suggest?

Unfortunately, there is no available trunk mounted rack for a 2014 Volkswagen Beetle with a panoramic roof.

Your best option is to use a SeaSucker brand roof rack such as the Talon, part # 298-BT1004. This attaches to the roof using vacuum cups. This will require that the bikes you use are equipped with a removable front wheel and fork. A wheel-mount only option is available as a trike rack, part # 298-BD1005.

Another option is to install a trailer hitch to your vehicle. I recommend the Class I, part # C11354. This hitch will give you the receiver you need to use a bike rack on your vehicle.

For the bike rack, you only need to look at two bike racks that fit 1-1/4 inch hitches. Class I hitch receivers can only ever carry two bikes because of how they are designed. You will also need a stabilizer strap # 18050.

I recommend a Swagman Titan, part # S63400. This rack includes integrated bike locks as well as a tilt-away feature, allowing you access to the rear hatch of your vehicle without risking damage to the vehicle, bike or rack.

To improve its usefulness, a Swagman Frame Adapter Bar, part # 64005 is useable with women's, step through, children's or aggressive frame bikes to help them ride level with the ground and reduce the risk of damage from bumps and sway.

Additionally, an anti-rattle hitch lock like part # S64029 will drastically reduce the amount of shake and sway that the rack experiences, improving your ride and security.
