You will want to check your owner's manual or with your dealership to find the maximum tongue weight capacity for your 2014 Volkswagen Beetle.

I recommend the Swagman Titan 2 Bike Rack for 1-1/4" and 2" Hitches - Tilting Item # S63400. This rack will fit a 1-1/4 inch hitch receiver and weighs about 30 lbs.

If you are carrying bikes with alternative frames like kids bikes or women's bikes I recommend using an adapter bar like part # Y02531. This bar attaches between the seat post and the handlebar stem and allows the bike to ride more evenly in the carrier while providing more ground clearance.
