Choosing Between Ultra-Fab Skid Wheels UF48-979017 and UF48-979014

Question:

I keep going back and forth about the pros and cons of the UF48-979017 vs the UF48-979014. This is for a 25 foot Class B+ motorhome build on Sprinter cutaway chassis. The 979017 doesnt have the upper mounting plate, only the bolt that extends over and there are steel vs urethane wheels. The 979017 will also be a little shorter. I am trying to protect the rear of the motorhome, but especially an exposed macerator pump. Help me with this purchase decision. Thanks

If it were me I would go with Ultra-Fab Rotating, Hitch Mounted Skid Wheels for RVs up to 30' Long - 4" Diameter - Qty 2 Item # UF48-979014 because the wheels can swivel. On Ultra-Fab Hitch Mounted Steel Rollers for RVs w/ 2-1/2" Hitch Tubing - 3" Diameter - Qty 2 Item # UF48-979017 the wheels are fixed. Having wheels that can swivel means they are more effective if you are not traveling in a straight line!
