Does the Equalizer of the Trailer Hanger Kit APT5 Have Movement Once Tightened Down

Question:

when installing this kit, do you lock down the equalizer as tight as possible, or should it have movement?

Expert Reply:

I spoke with my contact at Dexter and he informed me that you will tighten down the mounting hardware as tight as you can reasonably get it, and that even though you have the hardware tight it will still allow the necessary movement for the equalizer to work as designed on this Tandem-Axle Trailer Hanger Kit, part # APT5.
