Question:
I am interested in purchasing a hitch mounted cargo carrier. I will be getting a hitch installed on my 2015 Kia Forte for the purpose of this. From what I can tell, the only compatible hitch is a class 1 1-1/4 inch receiver. I prefer a cargo box with an elevated shank as I will sometimes be driving on gravel roads to campgrounds and don't want to bottom out. I cant seem to find a cargo carrier with an elevated shank that fits a class I receiver. Am I missing something? Thank you

We do have a solution for your elevated cargo carrier needs, even with the Class I, 1-1/4" receivers that are compatible with your 2015 Kia Forte; the Draw-Tite # 24903 and Curt # C11368 (please note that the Curt hitch requires the use of Curt Support Straps # 18050 with a cargo carrier in order not to void the warranty. I've attached a link to an instruction video showing how to use these straps for you).
The cargo carrier that I recommend you take a look at is Curt Cargo Carrier # C18110. Not only is the 3-3/4" shank rise the most you will be able to get from any Class I carrier with a rise, but it has the most attractive price point while still offering 300 lbs of weight capacity. You may also want to check out the etrailer Cargo Bag # e98990 and Curt Stretchable Cargo Net # C18200 to keep your gear dry and secure.
I have added links to video reviews of each of these products for you.
