Question:

Have 15 to 20 year old Yakima roof system for my sea kayak. Have no idea of a model name or number. The cross bar is 1and 1/8 inches to 1 and 3/16 inches in diameter. I had removed the saddle supports in past. End cap came off cross bar , and I lost 7 of the snap around mounting brackets. Also missing one of the hardware bolts that keeps the saddle attached through the missing mounting brackets. My round brackets appear to be like your #Y8810135 and the nut/bolting system are somewhat like those pictured in your Y8870043. My cross bar is round. What do you recommend for replacement .

Based on your picture it appears that you have the TLC Saddles made from 1986 to 1999. We have a few replacement parts that will fit these cradles:

1) Replacement 5/16" Hex Key Set for Yakima Roof Mounted Carriers - (QTY 4) Item # Y8810041
2) Yakima SnapAround Mounting Brackets (SNARs) Round and Square (QTY 4) Item # Y8810135
3) Replacement Snap Rivets for Yakima Fairing - All Models (QTY 8) Item # Y8840005

These are the only replacement parts for that rack that are still available. It might be time for a new carrier similar to the TLC cradles. I recommend Thule Top Deck Kayak Carrier with Tie-Downs # TH881. It is similar to what you have and is at a very good price point. I have linked a video review of this carrier for you.
