The best tire is going to depend on your current tire size, the tire type, and the load range that will support your toy hauler. I've attached a link to our tire products page. You can use the filters on the left side of the page to narrow down your search by size, wheel diameter, load range, and tire type.
Your current tire size will be stamped on the sidewall of the tire. Trailer tires contain the letters “ST,” for Special Trailer, followed by a sequence of numbers and letters. For instance, a tire that says “ST225/75R15” is a special trailer tire, size 225/75-15. The “R” stands for “radial” (as opposed to “bias”), indicating the tire type . Radial tires generally have better ground contact, traction, stability, and tread wear than bias tires. Radial tires also run cooler, so they tend to last longer. You can select your tire size and type in the filter system on the left side of the tire products page.
Another thing to consider is your load range. You want to make sure the combined strength of your tires can handle the weight of your trailer. To find how how much weight each tire can carry, divide the total loaded trailer weight by the number of tires on the toy hauler. For instance, if you have six tires to carry 27,000 lbs, divide 27,000 by 6, which will give you 4,500 lbs. Therefore, each of your tires would need to support at least 4,500 lbs. Each tire will have its weight capacity listed in the item description.
I've also attached a helpful FAQ article about trailer tires for your convenience.
If you'd like to send me your current tire size, I can make a specific recommendation as to what tire would work best for your trailer.
