Expert Reply:
Erickson E-Track should be secured to the mounting surface with no fewer than 2 fasteners per linear foot per side, so for example a 3-foot section would need no less than 8 fasteners. The type and length of fastener depends on the mounting surface more than anything else. The screws used should be either stainless or galvanized and they should be long enough to take full advantage of the depth of material at the mounting point.
If you were install the tracks on 3/4-inch or 1-inch thick plywood for example you would want 1-1/4-inch-long fasteners. Note also some wood materials have chemical treatments that can require special fasteners, such as # TFX150ACQ that are for ACQ-treated wood.
Keep in mind that to a great degree the actual weight capacity of the E-Tracks ultimately depends on the mounting surface.
