If your 2007 GMC Sierra Classic 1500HD came with a factory installed 7-Way trailer connector, all you will need to do is to plug the # 3015-P wiring harness into the factory port on the truck. This port is located in an electrical junction box under the dash and to the left of the brake pedal. Remove the cover and plug in 3015-P into the open port on the top row, second from the left. I have included an FAQ article that should help.
If the truck did not come with a factory 7-Way, you will still plug in the brake controller wiring harness as described above. To add a 7-Way, you will use part # 30955. I have included a link to a video that shows a typical installation for you to view.
The functions of the wires on the brake controller and harness are:
White = ground
Black = 12 volt power
Blue = Brake output
Red = stop light
