Question:
I have an older trailer that has a torsion suspension on it on that is worn out. It is registered 3000 gvw. I can provide pictures on the current set up if you need. I use the trailer to haul two motorcycles to track days loaded with gear and gas and a tents. I am looking for a recommendation on which set up is best to upgrade to.

I do have a few options available for you however, we currently do not sell torsion axles. You have two options to consider for your trailer, the Timbren axle-less suspension and the Dexter straight axles. As you have a gross trailer weight (GTW) of 3,000 lbs. I recommend using a 3,500 lb setup. The Timbren System will provide you with a much easier method for converting from torsion springs in addition to containing fewer components.
I recommend the Timbren Axle-Less Trailer Suspension System part # ASR3500S05 for an axle-less suspension. Similar to a torsion bar, the Timbren System uses rubber pads to dampen the suspension travel.
If you decide to choose a straight axle suspension setup, you will need the axle, leaf springs, and hangers. Although a traditional axle is not an upgrade to your existing setup, it is however a cost effective replacement option for you to consider. In order to install a straight axle on your trailer you will first need to measure the distance on center between the frame rails for the spring center measurement, in addition to the length from hub face to hub face on your torsion axle. For a spring center to spring center measurement of 74" and a hub face to hub face measurement of 89", I suggest the Dexter Trailer Axle Beam with EZ-Lube Spindles part # T3584F-EZ-8974 paired with our 4-Leaf Double-Eye Spring part # e54SR and the Single-Axle Trailer Hanger Kit part # APS1.
I have attached a review video for each of my recommendations for you.
