Question:
I have a 2016 Honda CRV with factory installed cross bars. I would like to be able to use the Thule Hullavator Pro Kayak Carrier with Lift Assist. Based on what Ive read, Im interpreting your responses and the manufactures comments about required overhang of the cross bars to the side bars, that this lift assisted rack cannot be used on my vehicle. Is that correct? Thank you.

The Thule Hulavator kayak carrier # TH898 does indeed need 4 to 8 inches of free crossbar sticking out beyond the feet or, in this case, the side rails. Without that extra bit of bar the Hullavator arms that come down to load/unload the kayak would hit the vehicle.
For your 2016 Honda CR-V with factory roof rack I recommend the Malone DownLoader # MPG114MD with the Telos load assist # MPG351XL. This will provide you with a load assist kayak carrier.
