How Straight Does Demco Hijacker Have to Be to to Connect/Disconnect

Im having problems with disconnecting the hitch from the 5th wheel trailer when the hitch is turned the main jaw open but the jaw that is part of the locking system wont release the king pin until I get the hitch straight in the truck?

The Demco Hijacker AutoSlides like the part # DM8550034 really only can be connected/disconnected when you are totally straight.
I called my contact at Demco and asked about disconnecting and the angle it can be detached. They told me that there is a 10 degree angle that the trailer can be disconnected to with the Autoslide.
