How To Determine Height Setting For The Highjacker Autoslide Be Set At For A 2019 Ram 2500

Question:

One reason I went with the Demco Hijacker is I can adjust the height of the hitch for the multiple trailers I planned to buy. Well I just purchased my second one and I'm unclear if I'm supposed to start with the hitch at it's lowest position for the new trailer?

The adjustable height feature of the Highjacker # DM8550034 is one of it's greatest assets for sure. To get started you'll need to take some measurements. Measure from the ground to the king pin on your pin box and then measure from the ground to bed of your 2019 Ram 2500. You will need a minimum of 5-6" of bed rail to trailer clearance per the attached diagram.

Next choose which height setting (15-1/4", 16-1/2", and 18") is the best for your application. If you don't have enough bed rail clearance with your trailer level then you may need to add a little height.
