Question:

My wife has a Volvo XC90 with a 2-inch receiver on it. Were family of five and Ive been looking for it rack that can carry 5 bikes. This rack Ive been looking at only carries 4. Do they make a rack that carries 5? Part of my problem is it I would like to get a rack that will work while towing a hybrid trailer but I dont know how to do this when my trailer doesnt have a tube frame. Its a Jayco Jay Feather light hybrid theres always the option of splitting bikes up for camping too but that makes for extra expense four bike racks. And then I would still need a rack for the back of the truck when not pulling the trailer. Sorry kind of a confusing email

We have 5 bike racks, but they aren't for use with an RV. We have 4 bike racks that will work on a vehicle or an RV. I'll give you a recommendation for each and you can decide what you want to do.

For an RV compatible bike rack, I recommend the Yakima LongHaul 4 Bike Rack - 2" Hitches # Y02476. This is a heavy-duty hitch rack that lets you carry 4 bikes on premium SuperCush anti-sway cradles with ZipStrip ratcheting straps. Dual arms provide excellent bike stability and fold down for storage when not in use. This rack includes a locking hitch pin and integrated cable lock to secure your bikes to the rack and your rack to your RV. I recommend using a bike adapter bar like # 64005 for any step though frames. This rack can used on a vehicle as well.

For a 5 bike rack for a vehicle application, I recommend the Curt Premium 5 Bike Rack - 2" Hitches - Tilting # C18065.

A platform style rack like the Swagman XTC4 4-Bike Rack for 2" Hitches - Platform Style # S64665 is not compatible with an RV, but is compatible with a vehicle with a 2 inch receiver. I recommend the Locking Anti-Rattle, Threaded Hitch Pin for Swagman 2" Hitch Racks # S64027 as well as a cable lock like # e98891.
