In the picture of product - TorkLift GlowStep Camper Scissor Steps w/ Landing Gear - 3 Steps - 20inch Wide - 350 lbs TorkLift RV Stairs and Steps Code: TLA7803-8000 -shows a vertical bar attached to the top step. What is it for?

The TorkLift GlowStep Camper Scissor Steps # TLA7803-8000 have a horizontal bar above the top step that is the mounting bracket to connect the steps to an RV. I've linked the install details that show how it's installed.
There are also two vertical bars on the bottom step that re the including landing gear.
There's also an optional GlowGuide Handrail # TLA7621 that many people like to include with the GlowStep.
