Does Curt Hitch # 14001 Fit 1996 Ford F-150 XL

Question:
Id like to confirm whether or not the Curt trailer hitch, receiver class IV-2 Code: 14001 will fit my 1996 Ford F-150 XL. Its the XL part that might make a difference, and I dont see that specified anywhere. The frame measures 34 inches between the L parts of the frame, but the outside-to-outside measurement is 37 and a half inches. Please advise. Thanks!
