Question:
What is the difference between the Dexter 8-389-91 and 8-389-81. Etrailer carries the 81. The trailer came with 91. I found a 91 on a different website and the description appears the same.

I spoke with my contact at Dexter and she informed me that the Dexter # 8-389-81UC3 on our site and the 8-389-91 on your trailer are essentially the same. Basically, the 8-389-91 usually refers to the the complete hub and drum assembly while the -81 part number is simply the hub/drum and cartridge.
However, the Dexter # 8-389-81UC3 on our site actually includes the entire assembly, so in this particular case, the two part numbers are exactly the same. The # 8-389-81UC3 will fit perfectly on your trailer as a replacement.
