Question:
I was interested in the Draw Tite Trailer Hitch for my 2010 Highlander Limited, but it says it will not fit with my full-size 19inch spare tire. Is this so?

Although it is true that the Draw-Tite Hitch # 75586 will not fit on a 2010 Toyota Highlander with the 19 inch spare tire, per the instructions, I do have a solution for you.
Draw-Tite has another hitch, part # 75726, that will fit with a 19 inch spare tire. I called the manufacturer and they confirmed that it has a slightly different style that will allow you to keep your full sized spare in the storage area. This hitch has a Gross Towing Weight of 5,000 lbs and a Tongue Weight of 750 lbs.
If you are need to install a 4-Pole wiring harness for towing purposes, you will want to use the Tekonsha T-One Wiring Harness # 118449 which just plugs right into factory plugs on your Highlander. If you need to use a 7-Way with your trailer, you can use the part # ETBC7 which provides you with a 4-Way and a 7-Way harness for your trailer.
I attached an article on how to find the correct rise or drop that you will need for a ball mount kit while towing. One of our ball mount kits that offers some common rise and drop mounts, like part # 989900, is a great option for a starter towing kit.
I have included some installation videos and some links to helpful articles for you to view as well.
