Can Roadmaster Hitch Extender be Used for Towing a Trailer or Bike Racks

Question:
This is described as a hitch extender for tow bars. Will it also work as a hitch extender on a cars trailer hitch? It would sometimes be used to move a bike rack a bit further from the car, if you can confirm this would work also. I like the fact that this product has a greater weight rating. Thanks,

You can use hitch extender # RM-071-1075 for things other than flat towing a vehicle. It will fit any 2 inch trailer hitch receiver. However, the tongue weight capacity of the trailer hitch will be reduced by 50 percent when using an extender. Provided the weight of the items used in the extender are under the reduced tongue weight capacity of the hitch you will be good to go.
