Question:
Looking for the female plug under the dash. Found a brown recepticle, correct size/shape, but 6 pins, two of which are hot. Is this the correct plug-in for the brake controller? It was located behind the parking brake pedal. Thanks very much!!

The brake controller connector is typically located behind the emergency brake pedal, where the floor board, kick panel, and firewall all meet. The connector is brown, and usually only one pin should show voltage, with another showing voltage only when the brake pedal is pressed. It sounds as if you have the correct connector. Were the headlights on when you tested the pins? One of the pins is frequently wired as an illumination circuit that is not used by the brake controller, which would explain why you have two pins that are hot.
I would recommend plugging the wiring adapter # 3035-P into the connector that you located, and testing the wires before plugging the controller into it. The black wire should show a constant 12-volts, with the red wire showing voltage only when the brake pedal is pressed.
