Best Way to Carry Bikes on a 2016 Mini Countryman

Question:

Please advise as to the best rack for bikes with this vehicle. The spoilers are not elevated up on the hood and have no space underneath will the Hollywood still work or is another more desireable?

I have a recommendation for you. The Yakima Fullback # Y02634 is confirmed to fit your 2016 Mini Countryman. However, for the Fullback to work, it must be converted to anchor mode which can cause damage to the headliner of your Mini over a period time. So if you're not going to be carrying your bikes very far or very often they are good options.

If you will be carrying them longer the Hollywood Racks Over-the-Top carriers are a better option. Both the 2-bike, # HRF2 and 3-bike, # HRF2-3 are confirmed to fit, however they are both designed to be used with the Mini S that has a roof rack. So it may not be as stable.

Since neither trunk mount rack is a perfect option you may want something more stable like a roof rack, especially if you're going to be traveling with the bikes a lot or over long distances. I suggest the Rhino-Rack consisting of of the 46 inch Vortex Aero Crossbars # RRVA118B-2 and teh SRB Legs # RRSX038. This will give you a great rack to connect a bike carrier like the Inno Fork Lock III # INA391 which is a fork mount carrier that will hold bikes up to 50 pounds and includes locks to secure your bikes to the carrier as well as the carrier to your roof rack.
