How to Pick Out Replacement Hubs and Brake Assemblies for Snowmobile Trailer

Question:

I have a 1996 Floe snowmobile trailer with Henshchen torsion axles, 2200#. The existing drums are set up with 7inch surge brakes. I am going to convert everything to electric. Are these the correct parts? 4 ea AKHD-542-EZ-2K Hub/drum 2 ea AKEBRK-2R Right Brake 2 ea AKEBRK-2L Left Brake I didnt see any trailer connector cord-sets, or battery box accessories? Thanks

You are going to first need to identify the spindles on your trailer so that we can find the correct hubs to fit them.

The first thing you will need to know is the bolt pattern of your hubs. This is so you get a hub that is compatible with your wheels. I attached an FAQ article on determining bolt pattern for you to check out.

Next thing you will need to know is what spindle you have on your trailer. In order to do that you can either get the inner and outer bearing numbers from a hub or use a dial or digital caliper to get exact measurements of the spindle. The measurements needed are the parts of the spindle where the bearings ride.

You would want to first select the bolt pattern that you have, next select the inner bearing you have, followed by selecting your outer bearing, and then all the correct hubs will be listed.

On the product page of the correct hub will be the correct brake assembly to use in the related parts section.
