Question:
We recently acquired a 2dr 4x4 1998 chevy tracker that we wish to flat tow behind a 2013 Navion. I am looking for advice to guide us on a complete parts list so that we are able to safely flat tow our tracker. Thanks

To flat tow your 1998 Chevy Tracker 2-door you will need base plates, a tow bar, safety cables, lighting, and supplemental braking.
For base plates you can use XL base plates # 118-15 if you want to be able to remove the draw-bar arms or # 118-8 for fixed base plates that will always bee visible and present at the front of the vehicle.
For a compatible tow bar I recommend the Falcon 2 # RM-520. But if you wanted to save some money you could use the Tracker tow bar # RM-020. If you go with the Tracker tow bar and the XL base plates then I also recommend quick disconnects # RM-201 to make the draw-bar arms easily removable.
For safety cables I recommend # RM-643. The coiled design helps keep the cables off of the ground.
For lighting you could use a magnetic kit such as # RM-2120. Or, for something more permanent, I recommend diode kit # 154-792-118158. the magnetic kit bypasses the vehicle wiring while the diode kit uses the vehicle wiring and lights.
You may also need a high/low adapter to keep the tow bar level. I have linked a help article showing how to measure and a link to the high/low adapters we carry.
And finally, most states now require supplemental braking on the vehicle being flat towed. Since your Navion has air brakes the best system for you is the Air Force One # SM99243. It doesn't use the coach's brake lights to trigger the Tracker's brakes so there's no false braking like there will be with some the other systems.
Be sure to consult your vehicle owners manual for specific information on flat towing the vehicle. I have also included some helpful links to our series of help articles on flat towing for you.
