For your 2005 Honda Element the 2-inch Class III hitch I recommend is the lower-priced option from etrailer, part # e78KR, since this has the same 350-lb tongue weight and 3500-lb towing capacities as the Curt hitch # 13574. The hitch includes all required mounting hardware and does not require the use of a stabilizer strap like the Curt hitch does. I have linked for you a copy of the installation instructions.
There is no plug-and-play wiring harness option for your car but we do have a hardwired 4-pole kit that includes everything needed - even a circuit tester for confirming the signals carried on each of the wires to be connected. Part # C59496 and I also included a helpful article to make the install go easier. Once installed this 4-pole harness will provide stop, turn and tail light functions for your trailer. Note this 4-pole type of wiring does not support trailer brake or trailer 12V power functions, only basic lighting. If your trailer has brakes please let me know.
Towing also requires a ball mount and hitch ball. Choose a Class III ball mount with the correct rise or drop to keep the hitched trailer level. Please refer to the linked article for how to choose one. Then select a Class III hitch ball of the size required by your trailer coupler using the linked page. You may prefer the etrailer Ball Mount Kit # 989900 which includes two ball mounts and two hitch balls, as well as a pin and clip.
