We can help you select the items you'll need to tow your 2008 Kia Spectra behind your motorhome.
Safe and legal flat towing requires a few components including a tow bar, safety cables, a wiring/lighting kit of some sort, a high/low hitch adapter and for the towed car a set of base plates and a braking system. You can learn more about each of these by reviewing the linked articles on flat towing. Your Spectra owner's manual should also be consulted (check the index for the heading 'recreational towing') in case there are any special preparation steps required to flat tow the car.
The hitch on your RV also needs to be rated for the weight of the car. The RV hitches we offer, such as the frame-mount # C13701, have a maximum towing capacity of 5000-lbs. The dry curb weight of the 2008 Kia Spectra is just under 3000-lbs so you'll just want to confirm that your RV's frame too can handle the car's weight. Check with the manufacturer using the RV's VIN.
We offer base plate kit # 2109-1 which will work with the Roadmaster Falcon tow bar # RM-520. For safety cables you can use part # RM-643. For a lighting kit the easiest option is a magnetic light kit such as # TL21RK which is inexpensive and simple to install. For a braking system you can use the portable and wireless Patriot # BLU37TR.
