Question:
Looking for a 2inch receiver folding carrier to mount on a fifth wheel camper. The camper already has the 2inch receiver mounted on it and is rated for 400lbs. I want to carry 2 small generators and 2 folding bikes on this carrier. Thanks I prefer aluminum and also would like to use this cargo carrier on my truck at times. I see some of the carriers state not to use them on a fifth wheel. Please make a recommendation. THANKS

For an aluminum cargo carrier, I recommend the 19x60 Curt Cargo Carrier for 2" Hitches, # C18100. It has a 500 lb capacity and yet only weighs 29 lbs, so it is easy to install and remove when not in use. It has pre-drilled holes along the sidewalls to offer tie-down points. It has a mesh floor, so it is easy to clean. I contacted Curt manufacturing and they suggested that you check your clearance as people will often scrape their cargo carrier on hills or inclines because people don't account for that extra length. I'd suggest considering a high-low adapter like # RM-076 to account for this but using an adapter will reduce your hitch tongue weight by 50 percent.
I've attached a video of this carrier being installed. I'd also recommend an Anti-Rattle Trailer Hitch Receiver Lock for 2 inch Hitches # 63232, to secure your carrier to your vehicle.
