I made the mistake of buying a bike rack from amazon and the hooks had to be screwed down which didn't work well and they bumped into each other only allowing 1 bike to be locked down. The Ratcheting Hook Set for Swagman XTC and XC and Upright Ratcheting Bar for Swagman XTC2 Bike Carrier were the prefect fix. They lock my bikes down securely and make getting the bikes on and off easy and fast. They came at a very good price as well.

@Stephen I'm glad we could provide the parts you needed Stephen! What kind of bikes do you have, and what kind of trails are you hitting? We have the Katy trail here in Missouri, it is more of an easy ride but loaded with bikes. We have some great parks with paved trails as well, was just out with my granddaughter for a ride recently, she just got her first big kid bike with gears =)

All I ordered were replacement hooks for my Swagman cycle rack. (I forgot to bring my hooks from home to Florida.)

Swagman makes a great product and their replacement parts are also great.

...but etrailer is the star. Great people to deal with. They had the parts in stock and they processed and delivered them promptly. They also were the low bidder for these parts. My hat is off to them for a good job running their business with customer satisfaction as a main target.

My hooks went missing and so glad I found exact replacements versus purchasing an entire new rack. Fit is perfect, order filled and shipped promptly, delivery was earlier than expected, in other words a perfect shopping experience!

We purchased the bike rack which came with the ratcheting hooks. The bike rack is awesome BTW. In the packing and moving, somehow the hooks have disappeared. The hooks are great and we also have the softride straps for added security.

It sounds like either the upright or the hooks are stripped on your Swagman XTC2 Bike Rack # S64670. If the ridges on the upright look worn then you need to replace that with part # P321 but if that looks fine then you need to replace the ratcheting hooks with part # P186. According to Swagman, the 1/4 hole on # P186 Grip Arms found on the Swagman XC bike racks, like # S64650, should not be used with any type of lock. The hole is just there because that is where they hang the part when it gets powder coated. Instead, we recommend using a cable lock, # S64031, for Swagman bike racks that fit both 1-1/4 inch and 2 inch hitches, or # S64030, for the Swagman racks that are for 2 inch hitches only.
