Using Curt Multipurpose Ball Mount Part # D210 with Roadmaster Hi-Lo Adapter Part # RM-048-4

Question:

I am looking to replace my 6 in hitch that I use for my Kar Kaddy tow dolly which claims to have a tongue weight of only 100 lbs when loaded. Can I combine the Curt D210 with the Roadmaster 4 in RM-048-4 to add a bike carrier?

The Roadmaster Hi-Lo Hitch Adapter is not meant to be used with a ballmount like the Curt Multi Purpose Ball Mount.
The adapter is meant for rolling loads that do not exert any tongue weight, like a vehicle being flat towed by a Tow Bar.

The Curt Multi-Purpose Ball Mount could be used directly in your hitch receiver, without using the High-Lo Adapter, as long as the tongue weight of the tow dolly, the weight of the bike rack and the bikes attached to it do not exceed the 600 lb tongue weight capacity of the ball mount, the hitch capacity itself or the manufacturers stated tongue weight capacity of the vehicle.
