What is Width/Thickness of the hook on Winch Strap # DL24239 at the Widest/Thickest Point

Updated 08/08/2016 | Published 08/06/2016

Question:

My 14foot aluminum boat has a rather small oval-shaped ring on the bow for the winch hook I want to be sure the hook will fit into it. The hook I now have on my old Fulton T600 winch cable is 7/8inch wide at the widest point, at the base of the curve on the hook. The hole on the boat winch ring is about 1-1/8inch wide front-to-back and about 7/8inch top to bottom. I really want to get rid of the metal cable and replace it with a strap.

I went out to the warehouse to measure winch strap # DL24239. At the widest/thickest part of the hook it is 0.83 inches which is between 13/16 and 7/8 inches. Based on your measurements it sounds like the hook will fit!
