How to Wire a 2000 Chevy Silverado for Hauling a Trailer with a Brake Controller

Hello! I bought a PK11916 plug to fit my hitch and the PK11998 7 wire wiring harness to hook the plug up to the factory wire bundle under my 2000 Silverado 1500 The 6 wires under my truck are Yellow, Green, Blue and White in one bundle and a Blue and a Black in a second bundle. Can you tell me how these 6 wire should connect to the PK11998 harness? I am assuming the large AWG 10 White wire on the PK11998 harness should be hooked to a clean ground on the frame. Thank you for your help!

The four wires in the bigger wire bundle on your 2000 Chevy Silverado are run as follows to the 4 inch Pigtail Wiring Harness for Pollak Replacement 7-Pole RV Socket, part # PK11998:
Yellow is for the left turn and brake lights
Dark Green is for right turn and brake lights
Brown (or possible blue in your case) is for tail lights
White is for a good clean ground on the frame like you thought
Since there is an extra blue wire than normal in your bundle, the only way to determine the function of each wire is to get a circuit tester to check the functionality of each wire. To do this, you will need a friend to sit in the driver seat of the truck testing all the different functions, while you sit near the rear of the truck testing all the wires with a circuit tester, part # 3808, to determine each wires function.
In the second bundle:
Light Blue is for a Center High Mount Light
Black is for reverse lights or reverse lockout
Now, if you have a brake controller you are going to need to run the necessary wires to make your brake controller functional. You are going to need to run some Jacketed 2 Wire, 10 Gauge, Brake Wire - per Foot, part # 10-2-1, to the engine bay of your truck through the firewall. Once you get there you are going to need to remove the bracket in the corner lower cover of the fuse box. Next, you will want to locate the blue and red wires that are normally located next to the fuse block on the cab side. The blue wire has a plug on it, the red wire has a ring terminal on it.
Now, you will need to attach the black from the double bonded wire to the positive post which is the forward most power post with a 40 amp fuse to the black wire. You will need a 30 amp fuse to be installed into the location nearest the positive post to power the brake controller.
Now, you will need to clip the connector off of the blue wire and connect it to the white wire from the double bonded wire that you ran into the engine bay.
Next, you will need to run the double bonded wire that you ran through the firewall to the rear of your truck where you will finish the running the wires. To finish the wiring you will need to connect the white (brake) and black (hot) to the blue (brake) and black (hot) respectively on the back of the 6 or 7-way adapter.
