Question:
Looking for a towing mirror for my F150 XLT 2013. I dont drive it much and am embarrassed to admit that I dont know for sure if the mirrors are heated. There is no marking but given that its an XLT I think that they must be. What mirror would be recommended and how important is it whether or not the mirrors are heated?

Don't worry, I can help explain the towing mirrors and help you find the right ones for your 2013 Ford F-150 XLT.
The heated, power, and manual mirror option is to ensure you can get the functions from a replacement mirror what you had on your original factory mirror. Since all the mirrors offered for your F-150 XLT are slide-on mirrors, you will retain the functions you have and they will simply slip the towing mirror on over the current factory mirror.
There are three options for your F-150. The first is the one I highly recommend for you, K-Source # KS81810. This slip-on mirror will match the contours of your factory mirror and allow you to retain the puddle lamps and back reflectors of your factory mirror if equipped or not. See attached images identifying these accessories. This same slip-on mirror will also fit if you have the manual mirrors, I've attached an image of this as well for you to check out.
A second option is the CIPA # CM11800. This slip-on mirror will not fit the stock mirror if equipped with the additional lighting features unless completely flush with the factory mirror. With these mirrors the features may be lost due to the unit covering them up.
The third option is the Longview # CTM2300B. This slip-on mirror will be very similar to the CIPA mirrors in the way that they were not designed to fit the stock mirrors with the additional features that aren't flush with the mirror.
At the bottom of each product page, you will see the back of the mirrors the towing mirror will be compatible with to better help identify what your XLT has, because there were many variations.
I have linked all the above mentioned products as well as installation videos of all three to this page for your viewing and purchasing convenience.
