Question:
I purchased a universal wiring kit to add a trailer brake to my 2013 Toyota Sienna XLE. I finally got around to installing it, and have all the wire in place. The last thing I need to do is splice the red wire that goes into the brake controller into the brake wire under the dash. The issue is I have no idea how to locate it what its connected to, color, etc. Do you guys have a picture or a specific description of the wire for my vehicle? I really dont want to splice the wrong one. Thanks.

I can help you determine which wire at the brake switch on your brake pedal carries the Stop Light Switch circuit, but we do not have any vehicle specific information about the color of the stop light switch on your 2013 Toyota Sienna.
To determine which wire is the stop light switch, you will want to use a circuit tester, like the one included in the # ETBC7 kit or one such as # PTW2993, to test the wires coming out of the brake switch. The Stop Light Switch wire is the wire that shows signal only when the brake pedal is pressed.
I've attached an installation video of the ETBC7 kit on an older model Sienna for you. At around the 9:46 mark in the video, the installer begins discussing testing the wires at the brake switch to find the one that only has power when the pedal is pressed. You will still want to test the wires on your specific Sienna, because the wire color or location of the stop light circuit on the brake switch may be different than what is shown in the video.
