The Tekonsha Prodigy P3 Trailer Brake Controller # 90195 (and the P2 # 90885) needs to mount on your dash so that it is level horizontally and pointed in the direction of travel. Since it can level itself automatically you can have it mounted at any vertical angle. Please refer to the linked diagram that illustrates the correct (and incorrect) positions.
In your Ram 3500 you will use wiring adapter # 3021-P to connect the controller to the under-dash port as shown in the linked video.
