Question:
We are concerned about weight on the back of the r pod and thought a tongue mounted rack that holds a bicycle rack would be good. Then switch the bicycle rack to FJ to get to trail. Any thoughts on that idea?

I recommend first installing a trailer hitch on the back of your Rpod, and then a hitch mounted bike carrier.
The trailer hitch I recommend is the Curt Adjustable Width Trailer Hitch, part # 13703. This will work with RVs that have a frame width between 22 and 72 inches. The hitch can be bolted on or welded on.
The bike carrier I recommend is the Let's Go Aero VeeMe V2 2-Bike Rack, part # VME-V2. This rack is RV rated and has a weight capacity of 50-lbs per bike. This rack weight just 12-1/2 lbs.

How do you deal with lose over road clearance as the trailer hitch will hang below the existing frame?
