Replacement Straight Equalizer for Existing 6-1/2 Inch Long Straight Equalizer

Question:

I Have a straight equalizer that needs to be replaced. It is 6.5 inch center to center on outside holes. Can I substitute your 5.5inch straight equalizer and use a slightly longer shackle strap?

To replace your existing 6-1/2 inch long straight equalizer you can use the 5-1/2 Inch Long Straight Equalizer for 1-3/4 Inch Double-Eye Springs # TREQR2 with longer shackle straps on your trailer. If you replace your 6-1/2 inch equalizer on one side, you will want to use the same set-up on the other side of the trailer as well.

The # TREQR2 equalizer measures 5-1/2 inches from the center of one bolt hole to the center of the bolt hole on the other end. The equalizer is 1-1/2 inches tall and the bolt hole diameters are all 9/16 inches.

We offer a variety of different shackle strap lengths. Since you are using an equalizer that is shorter than your existing equalizer, you are correct that you will want shackle straps that are slightly longer than the existing shackle straps on your trailer.
