Question:
2009 sienna xle touring Installed the hitch on my sienna but when the vans loaded it seems to ride too low and the rack bottoms out on small bumps. We were loaded up for family trip and the racks and bikes just overdid it. Quickly switched gears and moved everything into our RAV4 instead. What is the recommended height the hitch should be? Im worried the van itself is sitting too low. Any suggestions? Thanks!

Sounds like your Sienna would benefit from some rear suspension like the Air Lift # AL60732 or the Timbren # TTORSEN04.
The Draw-Tite hitch # 75237 on the 2009 Toyota Sienna model should sit at a height of 11-1/2 inches from the ground to top of the inside of the receiver with no cargo or passengers.
On page 542 of your owner's manual, I was able to find a chart with your vehicle's weight capacity, this includes occupants and luggage. I have linked the page and weight capacities to this page for you to better see, depending on which model 8- or 7-passenger vehicle you have.
Most likely, the rear sag you were experiencing was due to overloading, but many customers with lower vehicles like yours find that the added support of aftermarket suspension helps. The added support will help you maximize the capacity of your vehicle when carrying heavier loads.
The AirLift # AL60732 is an adjustable air bag system that allows you to inflate each bag to the comfortable pressure when hauling your gear.
The Timbren # TTORSEN04 is a hollow rubber spring that will replace your factory bump stops to help level the vehicle and absorb the road shock. If it were me, I'd go with the Timbren because of the lower maintenance of the system.
I have linked the above mentioned parts as well as a video of each kit installed on a similar vehicle to yours. I have also linked all the suspension enhancement systems for your vehicle to this page for your convenience.
