Question:
I have a 2005 Silverado 2500HD that has the factory external tranny cooler that is approx. 11inch wide x 4inch high and Im wondering if its best to purchase the D13504 cooler and put it in place of the factory cooler by removing the factory cooler or install the aftermarket cooler as shown in your video? What are the benefits of having to stock and aftermarket cooler,if any? I would like to eliminate the factory cooler and intall the D13504 in place of it with the supplied rubber lines and clamps attatched to the tranny lines?Any advice to pros and cons to this is appreciated!

For the best possible cooling of the transmission fluid you ideally would want to route the fluid through both coolers as this would give you the best results.
That being, there are several people who will replace their coolers with supplemental ones if the factory one had a leak. This is a large cooler that would do a good job on your truck, but ideally you would route the fluid through both coolers.
If you are going to go down to just one cooler I would recommend the part # D13614 instead as it is a more efficient design that would do a better job cooling the fluid.
