The # 3375471001 Safety Chain Mounts would typically be welded to the trailer frame or tongue, the exact location would depend on the design of the trailer. You'll want to use two safety chain mounts.

The mount is designed to hold a 3/8th's inch chain, so you'll need to make sure that the link on the chain has an opening size of at least 3/8 of an inch.
