Question:
Hello there, I would like to mount two of these lights in the back of my aluminum tool box, do I need something to make the lights flash or is that built into the light? I would also like to mount two of them behind the grille, I use this truck for snowplowing.

The flashing by part # CPL65A-STR is done inside the light. These lights will flash, or strobe, 4 times per second as long as 12 volt power is supplied to the circuit they are attached to. You will need a switch to activate and shut down the flashing lights. We have the Derale Lighted On/Off Switch, item # D16740, that can be used for this install and would be good to keep you alerted that the flashing lights are on, if you hook up the lighted function of the switch.
The first light is called a master, master is imprinted on back of light, the second light is called the slave, SLV is imprinted on the back of the light. First install the master light on one side of the vehicle and wire the white wire to a ground. Next wire the red wire to your power source, a 12 volt switched circuit. Then install the SLV, slave, light into the other side of the vehicle and wire the white wire to a ground, then wire the red wire from the slave to the black wire on the master. The black wire on the slave light is not used.
