Availability of Tailgate Assist for 2001 Dodge Ram 1500

Question:

I would like to know if this product fits the 2001 Dodge Ram 1500, because I always see it for 2002 and up, but not for 2001. Thank You

We do offer a tailgate assist for your 2001 Dodge Ram from Hopkins, part # 74211. The Hopkins EasyLift is a torsion spring that helps control the descent of the tailgate when you're opening it but the spring action removes much of the weight of the tailgate which allows you to close the tailgate with one hand.

The DeeZee tailgate assist controls the descent, but offers no assist in raising the tailgate. DeeZee doesn't offer a model that's compatible with a 2001 Ram, the # DZ43300 wasn't a fit until the 2002 model year.
