Question:

We have a 2004 CM Dakota Horse trailer. The existing caps are rusting away, The length is about 4inches and width is about 3.75inches of the Cap. The opening of the Cap is 2.75inches Is there a way to know if the Center bore is without taking off the tire? it is a 5 lug tire? I dont know if we need 3.19 or 3.75 inch caps? Thanks

Yes, there is a way to know the center bore diameter without taking your tire off.

You would want to measure the diameter of your rusted center cap with a digital caliper like # PTW80157. This will give you the center bore diameter you are looking for.

The center bore hole of the wheel (pilot size) should measure 3.19 inches for the # AM90175 you were looking at. The overall height without the plastic plug/cap is 3.6 inches and the opening of the plug/cap is 1.92 inches, so this is likely not the fit for you from the dimensions you mentioned in your question. I've attached an image for you to see better, the center bore diameter of this cap.

I have linked the page with all the available center caps for your convenience. You will see a filter for pilot hole sizes on that page.
