Question:
I have a 2013 Tacoma with the trailer package and I cant find the brake controller adapter/harness. Nor can I find any information on line for the 2013 model. I have looked just to the left of the emergency brake and can not find any connecter. Can you help, please.

For your 2013 Toyota Tacoma and a Tekonsha brake controller the correct brake controller wiring harness is # 3040-P. In plugs into a plug on the truck located under the dash to the left of the emergency brake pedal.
Some times the factory plug can fall behind the driver's side kick panel or be tucked up higher and attached to another wire bundle. I have included a link to a video that shows the general area it is located. It is on a 2012 Tacoma which will be the same as on a 2013.
If your Tacoma did not come with a factory 7-Way trailer connector then it is possible that the harness is not there and the brake controller would have to be hardwired in.
