Recommended Locking Ratchet Arm Assembly For T2 Bike Carrier

Question:

got a thule t2 system with the added fat tire kit but cant get the arm to fit over the front tire. i have 100mm rim running surly bud 4.8. what do i need to do to get it to fit? I tried in the front and rear of the front tire and I cant get the arm to get down to the first ratchet click. Any parts available to modify?

I called my contact at Thule and explained the problem you said you were having with your fat bike.

They told me that you may have an older model T2 bike carrier. If you do not have the cable at the top of the wheel arm you have the older model and it will not fit over the wheel. I do have good news though. We offer a replacement arm that is longer and is designed to fit bikes with a wheelbase up to 29 inches. You just need to order part # 752-1272-001. This will install on your T2 bike carrier and work great for your fat bike tires.
