Replacement Mounting Hardware for Subaru Thule Cargo Box Similar to Evolution 1600

Question:

I have a Subaru car top carrier that looks identical to the Thule Evolution 1600 carrier sold by Sears except it is all black instead of black and silver. This makes me think that the carrier is made by Thule and re-badged by Subaru. The carrier has the old school metal plates and bolts that bracket it to the roof rack. I would like to replace this mounting hardware. Can I replace it with the Thule Quick-Grip or Easy Mount systems? Will both or either of these systems mount to my 2014 Subaru Outback roof rack whose cross bars are only 1/2inch thick?

I spoke with my contact at Thule to see if your cargo box was possibly made by them. My contact confirmed that they did make several cargo boxes for Subaru and one of them did look like the Evolution 1600.

My contact at Thule confirmed that the Quick Grip Mount is not compatible with the Evolution 1600 cargo box so you could use # TH04997 instead which will work with your bars.
