To install a fifth wheel hitch in the bed of your truck you are going to have to remove the gooseneck hitch to install the fifth wheel rails. But what you can do is install the part # 16055 in the fifth wheel rails so that you could tow a gooseneck trailer if needed.
The fifth wheel rail kit part # C16301-200 that you referenced has been confirmed as a fit for your 2006 Dodge Ram 2500 though and the slider hitch part# C16546 that you referenced would also be a great choice since you have a short bed truck.
