Question:
The lock housing for my Thule mountaineer is loose and easily comes out when you unlock the cylinder. How can I properly reinstall the housing.

Expert Reply:
If you have the original Thule Mountaineer cargo box, number 669 and not 669ES or 669TT, then there is no replacement lock or bracket for the housing available.
For the 669ES and 669TT you would use the universal change key # 853-1251 which is designed to remove and install Thule lock cylinders. If you are unable to get the cylinder to stay put then I do recommend replacing it. If you can tell me the number on the lock face or they key I can point you to the correct replacement.
If it does not have to be a specific lock and key you could use # TH450200 which includes 2 locks, 2 keys, and the universal change key.
