Is Drilling Required to Install Upgraded Rear Anti-Sway Bar on a 2015 Ford F-150

Updated 10/27/2015 | Published 10/26/2015

Question:

2015 F150 SuperCab XLT 6.5 ft Bed Hi there, Part# RM-1139-177 Im assuming the drilling required is into the steel box frame. What size drill bit is needed? -Also, advise on preventing future corrosion at/in the frame from drilling these holes into the factory protected Steel. Would Red Lithium grease in the drilled hole before mounting, work to prevent corrosion? Your pro advice is greatly appreciated!

I checked with Roadmaster and to install rear anti-sway bar # RM-1139-177 on your 2015 Ford F-150 you will need to drill into the frame as you mentioned. You would use the step up method of drilling to get to a 1/2 inch hole (Roadmaster indicated the bolts are slightly larger than 1/2 inch).

To help protect against corrosion you can use something as simple as spray paint to coat the exposed steel. Some thread locker such as # LT37643 will also help. This product was a waxy consistency and will not leak out like grease would.
