Question:

I have a friend with a homemade trailer at least 30 years old. The coupler is a hand wheel, which was cast steel, for a 1 7/8 inch ball. It was made by Acme Tool in Kansas City. Last year it was left at a ranch in Colorado after Elk hunting and evidently used by hired help for hauling. When we returned this year all the coupler parts are gone??? The wheel , bolt and latch that tightens to ball. I contacted Acme, but they do not carry this type anymore or have parts to replace. Can any wheel coupler repair kits work?

I wish we had replacement parts that would work for your trailer, but the best solution we have would be to replace the coupler since we do not carry the repair kit you need.

For a similar hand wheel style coupler we have the part # T2343400.
