Question:

i purchased a product of yours, probably about a year ago, maybe a little over a year, sometime last summer, product was the Pollak 7-Pole and 4-Pole Trailer Connector Sockets w/ Mounting Bracket and Wiring - Vehicle End. number HM40975-11998. Have you guys had problems with these two plugs filling up with water were they connect? mine was full of water, now its all rusted and having a bad connection? Kind of disappointing only after a year. so the question is do you guys know of a way to clean these up at all? I tried with a little wire brush but kind of hard to get at it all. Any help would be great. thanks.

If the connector portion of the # HM40975-11998 filled up with water it had to have been due to it getting submerged or being installed in an area that gets direct water sprayed on it when traveling in rain. We have never heard of one filling with water like you described.

You would want to either replace the whole thing or just the connectors with part # HM40975. If it's as rusty as you described it would be very difficult to get it all out. But you could try the product called CLR that is designed for easy rust removal.
