Question:
What is the tilt angle for the Yakima HoldUp? Im trying to determine if I will have access to the rear of my vehicle when the rack is fully loaded and tilted away.

The Yakima HoldUp bike carrier # Y02443-2 tilts down at about a 45 degree angle but it depends on the vehicle it is on and how high up the hitch is. If the hitch was low enough to the ground you would not be able to lower the rack all the way.
It is unlikely that you will be able to open the rear hatch even with the carrier tilted down but we do have bike carriers that will allow you to open the rear hatch with or without the bikes loaded. I recommend going with the Apex swinging bike carrier # TH9027XT. The rack swings off to the side of the vehicle allowing you to open the rear hatch.
For hanging bike carriers, if you will be carrying any bikes that do not have a top frame bar that goes straight across (like a typical men's bike would) then I recommend using bike adapter bar # 64005. This will allow you to carry those bikes more level and will provide better ground clearance. I have to use these adapters and without them my wife's bike would be at a severe angle and I would not be able to load my son's bike at all. I have linked a video showing how the adapter works.
